Fixing Bluetooth Audio Devices

The primary issue you may face with Bluetooth audio devices is the incompatibility. Windows 10 displays the error message clearly when you plug them in and try to connect. Sometime you may experience windows 10 Bluetooth missing. It requires the installation of windows 10 Bluetooth driver. Most of the devices have driver CDs which can fix the problem after the installation of the driver. In some cases, you may need to update the driver version to make it compatible. You can do it by connecting to the online store and downloading it.

how to fix Bluetooth on Windows 10

1. Go to the Windows control panel and choose update software/driver option. Or you can open the device manager and right click on the specific device. Then select the update driver option. This will allow you to install Bluetooth driver for windows.

2. The system may prompt you to provide the path to the driver file location. Click the “Browse” button and choose the file location. The automatic update program will run in the background and fix the issue.
3. Reboot your system and start using the Bluetooth audio device.
4. In some cases, the security system on your Windows-10 might have blocked a specific Bluetooth audio device from establishing a connection. Then you have to open the device manager, go to Bluetooth, and make the relevant settings for the device.

5. Choose “More Bluetooth options” from the Bluetooth in the device manager.

There are three tabs on the dialogue window that pops up. You may see a Yellow exclamatory symbol which shows the state of non-connectivity. Choose options and put a check-mark on the “Allow Bluetooth devices to find the PC.” Check the two boxes beneath the Notification section. Click OK.
Now, Windows-10 will detect the Bluetooth audio device and configure it. If the system prompts you to provide a driver, you have to follow the procedures in the first step explained above.

In some cases, the pairing between the Bluetooth device and the port may not be correctly configured. Then you have to add the port and set the device manually.

Open the Settings menu. Choose the Control Panel and click on Bluetooth Devices.
The popup dialogue window has a tab for ports. Click on it. If the Bluetooth port is not configured, the list will be empty.

Click on Add.
Select the Incoming option and click on OK.
The system may take a few minutes to assign the proper number to the Bluetooth port.
Once it is done, you can right click on the device and install the driver.
In some cases, the port may not open up if there is a hardware detection issue. It could be due to the security firewall, or trouble in the hardware driver. Sometimes the driver can become corrupt when OS closes without proper shutdown, while the Bluetooth audio is working.

  • Open the Settings menu. Choose control and Bluetooth Devices.
  • The popup dialogue window has a tab for ports.
  • Choose the hardware tab and click on troubleshoot driver.
  • The system will automatically install the driver and repairs the bugs in the existing drivers.
  • Reboot the system and start using the Bluetooth audio device.

Fixing Wireless Displays

The most common problem of wireless display adapter is its pairing with the OS or the display device or both. Then you have to manually add the device from the control panel’s device manager. Choose “Add a device” option. You can see a list of devices in the next dialogue window. Chose the right device adaptor and clicked on OK. Now the OS will automatically add the device and install the driver.

In some cases, the device name may not be on the list. Then you have to click on Browse and chose the driver location on the OEM CD. Then click on, OK. The system can install the driver from the location and add the device to the list.

In some cases, the adaptor driver may be corrupt due to powering off the system without shutting down the OS or other reasons. The first step is to uninstall the existing driver. If the uninstall procedure is unsuccessful, you have to open the windows registry and search for the wireless adaptor system. It is a tricky process which may or may not work. But no harm will be done to your computer as long as you don’t fiddle with the other device drivers and settings.
Manually mark all the entries and delete them. Then you can close the registry editor and restart your computer. Install the device driver newly and start enjoying the experience of working with a wireless display unit. If you don’t know how to open the Windows registry editor, here is a simple trick. Click on start and type REGEDIT in the run window. Press the ENTER key to open the windows registry.

In some cases, the 2.4GHZ wireless band may be disabled or not activated. Then you have to enable it. Choose the device manager. Right click on the device and choose properties. Select the Advanced tab. From the property-list, you have to select the band and set the value to Auto and click on OK. Now you can test the wireless display adaptor with the device. It will work unless there is a hardware problem. Then you need to replace the damaged adaptor with a new one. Make sure you replace both the adapters at the display system and the computer.
In some cases, the problems with the Graphics card adaptor may cause issues for the display. You can see the wireless connection signal on the device, but still, there will be no display. The screen may be blank, or it may show “No Signal” message. Then you have to turn off the display unit and reinstall the graphics card driver on your computer.

Go to the device manager from the control panel. Select the graphics card device from the list of devices. Right click on the device. Choose uninstall the driver. Once it is done, repeat the procedure and choose Install graphics adapter driver. In most cases, the Windows OS can automatically detect the drivers and load them. Restart the OS and connect to the wireless display unit.
